This is a website we did set-up to support our retail member shops and partners in the optical industry who needed some support and protection against Covid19 for themselves, the staff in the shops and their customers. It rapidly developed as some other friends, CEOs, GMs, HR, in other industries needed some equipment and help for their own staff. Of course, the health staff in hospitals (doctors, nurses…), police, firemen, ambulances… have at present priority and need also to get supply as the traditional supply channels are overwhelmed with orders and urgent needs.
We are coordinating with some associations, NGOs and government structures to support each other. We are helping the best we can! Our normal business is to supply high quality optical products but as we have a strong presence in Asia and in Europe, and our HQ in Hong Kong, with a local team, we decided to get directly to the factories and to streamline the supply chain, avoiding unnecessary pmiddlemen and costs. The rules and regulations for shipping those goods from Asia to Europe or elsewhere, are not easy and the prices are also changing almost on a daily basis. We can adapt and react fast to secure the best quality products, with the right Certificates (CE, FDA…), guarantees and export licenses from the local governments (China, Korea, in Europe…), at the optimized price.
Still, our goal is not to make a business out of it as it all started just to help our families and friends to fight efficiently the Covid19 pandemic. We just need to make sure we cover our costs and can deliver fast. Quite a challenge indeed!
